INTEGRITY Care eliminates suffering and poverty on a daily bases thru two proven programs.

1. We provide relief from suffering. What is unique is that we use community resources that have identified themselves as willing and able. This means quicker and more effective solution to needs that is provided in the community without removing people from their close circle of comfort. We UNASHAMEDLY call this our ‘HANDOUT’ program in recognition of the fact that everyone needs this sort of help at sometime.

2. We help people to help themselves. Our second program provides people who have skills and the will, but not the funds, to eliminate poverty in theirs and their families’ lives.
In a world so full of poverty it is exciting and amazing to know that a family’s destiny can be so dramatically changed access to capital of as little as $AUS 100, a small amount of direction and a lot of encouragement.
We call this our ‘HAND-UP’ program. It is a micro-enterprise development (MED) program. Already as a result of this program we now have thriving businesses in areas as diverse as some making food, bicycle repairs, brick making, tailoring, weaving…There are literally thousands of businesses waiting to be started. This equates to millions of people waiting to come out of poverty. They don’t lack the will, but they do lack the ‘seed’ money.

Our pragmatic approach to poverty elimination and community development causes us to ask, ‘Why support people continuously with welfare, when they can be empowered to provide for themselves PERMANENTLY?’ The answer to the question compels us to pursue our mission, which is to stimulate business development for the entrepreneurial-poor and train them in values-based business skills. They then employ others, care for their own families, and repay their loan so it is re-loaned continuously to others in poverty.

Giving a loan is only a part of the solution. We also equip the poor with values-based, business and life-skills training. It is only by lifting peoples thinking to a new level that we can expect them to change the way they act. By giving them absolute ‘anchor-points’ for their thinking, we are creating virtuous communities that are immunized against corruption & poverty.

Paying welfare to the unemployed or sponsoring a child in poverty are good short-term ‘bandaids’ but with the same end result. Welfare dependency grows and people lose the desire to leave the comfort of ‘free’ support. Traditionally, if the assistance stops, the poverty resumes.

By contrast with this, our MED programmes provide a PERMANENT working solution to poverty.
